Montana may is a 20-year-old multidisciplinary artist and Fine Arts student from Melbourne/Naarm, creating on Wurundjeri land. Although situated at the beginning of their formal arts career, they have spent half of their life as an arts practitioner, undertaking commissions since the age of fourteen. Working across a diverse material repertoire (predominantly bronze, oil paint, wood, and found objects), Their  portfolio navigates the intersection of traditional craftsmanship, intuitive experimentation and conceptual exploration. May's Art practice aims to cultivate an atmosphere of quiet unease—spaces where beauty and horror coalesce, and where the viewer is invited to linger in the liminal, probing the undercurrents of the human condition with a gothic overtone.
